SecretPal 7 Questionaire

Well now that I'm all set-up, here are a few tidbits about myself:

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand?
I'm not a yarn snob. I'll try anything at least once, but if it pills it's not for me.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I don't spin or crochet, but would love to learn to crochet sometime this year.

3. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
Currently I use a Latern Moon frabic needle case, but when there's no room I use the basket my yarn is in.

4. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I've only been knittin for six months and I love every minute of it. I'd consider myself an intermediate knitter.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
I have an Amazon and Barnes and Noble wish list. I desparately need to update the Amazon wish list.

6. What's your favorite scent: (for candles, bath products, etc.)
I love pomegranate, mango and passion fruit scents.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?
I can thank sweets for my lovely curves. I love everything chocolate. My weakness is ice cream.

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
I enjoy making jewelry (PMC, link bracelets, etc) and like to tinker with electronics every once in awhile. I'm a bit of gadget junky.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
I listen to almost everything - Jazz, Rock, R&B, Samba, Classical... (not crazy about headbanging/metal). My father's a musician so I've been exposed to everything. Yes, my computer/stereo can play MP3's.

10. What's your favorite color? Or do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you can't stand?
Blue is probably a favorite just because wear a lot of it, but I'm drawn to shades of red, brown and apple green lately. I'm not a bright/neon person.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
I'm a single mom of two wonderful boys, a 12 year old and a 9 month old. I don't have any pets, but hope get a cat this year.

12. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?
I wear scarves, hats and gloves, but I don't think I look good in ponchos. I love wraps, shrugs and boleros.

13. What is/are your favorited yarn/s to knit with?
I love the Lana Grossa "Bingo" and anything Rowan.

14. What fibers do you absolutely "not" like?
Nothing acrylic.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
Hats and scarves, I love accessories.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
So far accessories (hats, scarves, etc.), but I really want to practice socks more.

17. What are you knitting right now?
I'm working on a cravat and beret design from Debbie Bliss. The cravat is a bit more challenging than a scarf and I really like that.

18. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Absolutely.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
No preference. I definitely enjoy working on hats with circulars.

20. Bamboo, aluminum or plastic?
(1) Bamboo (2) aluminum, I've never knitted with plastic.

21. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?
No, but I'm going to get both by spring.

22. How did you learn to knit?
I signed up for a class with my best friend. My mother taught me to crochet when I was young, but I've lost all concept of how to now.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
About 3 months old. An unfinished, top down, no seam sweater.

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
Growing up, Winnie the Pooh but lately the characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I love koi, pandas and butterflies.

25. What is your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving, I love having all the family together.

26. Is there anything that you collect?
Not as a hobby, but I have a huge CD collection.

27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
Interweave Knits, Vogue Knitting, Oprah, InStyle, Vogue (fashion magazine) and Real Simple.

28. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on?
I have Vivian Hoxbro's "Domino Knitting" on my Barnes and Noble wish list.

29. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn?
I want to work on the cable technique and practice the front, back, front increasing technique.

30. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
No, but I really want to learn to knit socks. I'm a US 9 or EU 39 or 40. Measurements, not sure I'll have to give them later.
